# Installation

Before installing this or any modpack, it is worthwhile to check out the various launchers available on the [Launchers](/create-conquest-arcane/installation/launchers.md) page. If you want to use shaders, then go to [Shaders](/create-conquest-arcane/installation/shaders.md).

### 1.19.2 Fabric:

1. Install CCA using your favorite [launcher](/create-conquest-arcane/installation/launchers.md)
2. In [Before 1st Run](#before-1st-run) Complete all of the steps, **EXCEPT for Step 1.**

### 1.18.2 Forge: 

1. Install CCA using your favorite [launcher](/create-conquest-arcane/installation/launchers.md)
2. Complete all of the steps in [Before 1st Run](#before-1st-run)

#### Before 1st Run

1. Forge 1.18.2 only: Download and install [preview\_OptiFine\_1.18.2\_HD\_U\_H9\_pre2.jar](https://legacy.curseforge.com/linkout?remoteUrl=http%253a%252f%252foptifine.net%252fadloadx%253ff%253dpreview_OptiFine_1.18.2_HD_U_H9_pre2.jar) to\
   `minecraft/mods/preview_OptiFine_1.18.2_HD_U_H9_pre2.jar`
2. Download and install the latest version of the Conquest Reforged resource pack. \
   \- For 1.18.2 Forge \
   \- For 1.19.2 Fabric 

   Copy to `minecraft/resourcepacks/`
3. Do not start the pack just yet.
4. I also highly recommend installing [TheUnknownDad's](https://legacy.curseforge.com/members/filthy_coin/projects) Conquest of \[...] resourcepacks listed below: (*I am grateful that TheUnknownDad hopes to soon offer a combined CCA resource pack containing all of the below Conquest of ... resource packs.*)

These optional resource packs Must be loaded AFTER the Conquest Reforged Resource Pack.

5. If you have run the pack before completing steps above, then copy:\
   `minecraft/config/[yosbr for 1.19.2 Or defaultoptions for 1.18.2]/options.txt`\
   \
   to:\
   `minecraft/options.txt` - this will ensure the resource packs are loaded on 1st launch.
6. Start the game.\
   **With 1.18.2 Forge only** it takes several minutes to load due to Optifine, resource pack, and the mod, Conquest Reforged - please be patient - go have a shower or shopping while you wait. If you are watching the logs and the game seems stuck at `[Worker-Main-15/INFO] [ne.op.Config/]: [OptiFine] BetterGrass: Parsing configuration optifine/bettergrass.properties` that is normal.

The pack runs best with 6-8GB of allocated RAM and a decent video card.
